Hiring Operator

Hiring without the dread. Describe the role and this Hermes agent drafts a job post that sounds like your business (with the comp-range nudge and honest must-haves). Paste the applications and it ranks who to interview - on skills only, never names or protected traits - with the reasoning shown. It drafts and ranks; you post and hire. It has no tools to post or contact anyone; it only ever hands you text. Not legal or HR advice.

About this template

Hiring Operator

Hiring is two jobs a small-business owner dreads: writing a post that doesn't sound like corporate mush, and reading a stack of resumes they don't have time for. This agent does both, on your own paid box - and it works entirely from what you paste, no tool to connect.

What you get

Write the job post - say "I'm hiring a part-time bookkeeper" and describe the role. It drafts a post in your voice: a specific title, an honest hook, real day-to-day responsibilities, must-haves (kept short, not a wish-list), comp + logistics, and how to apply. It pushes you for a comp range - posts without one get far fewer good applicants.

Screen the applicants - paste the resumes and ask "who should I interview?" It ranks them - interview / maybe / pass - each with a one-line reason tied to the actual resume, plus 2-3 screening questions for your top candidates. It judges on role-relevant skills and experience only - never a candidate's name, age, gender, or any protected characteristic.

It drafts. You post and hire.

This operator has no tools to post a job or contact anyone - it works from what you paste and only ever hands you text. Ask it to post to a board, email a candidate, or send a rejection and it won't (it can't) - it drafts the message for you to send yourself. Nothing is ever published or sent on your behalf.

Good fit if

  • You're hiring and want a strong post + a ranked shortlist without the busywork.
  • You want an agent you own on a paid microVM - your keys, your data.

Not for you if

  • You want it to auto-post or auto-email candidates (by design, it can't).

Setup (BYOK, ~2 minutes)

  1. Fork -> a paid Firecracker microVM boots with the skills pre-installed.
  2. hermes config set OPENROUTER_API_KEY ... (your model key - a capable model gives the best drafts).
  3. Ask: "write a job post for " then "screen these resumes." No connections needed.

This is not legal or HR advice. Job posts and candidate rankings are drafts and starting points - keep hiring decisions and any compliance questions with you (and, where it matters, your counsel). First purchase carries a 30-day money-back guarantee. No free trial.
